This project is an attempt to make a portable Wii console which can also link to a TV through an HDMI cable - similar to a modern Switch.
I originally became interested in portable Wiis after hearing about the Kawaii Wii, but due to the absurd difficulty of such a mod, I wanted to start off with something "easy" that wouldn't require as small of a motherboard trim.

To start this project off, naturally I needed a Wii, so I bought a set of three off of a second-hand site, then dismantled and homebrewed one of the Wiis using this site for the first steps and RVLoader, which is a mod that adds a certain UI and a few hardware changes to the Wii to make it more easy to make portable.

Timeline
6 Oct 2024: Ordered 3 wii consoles. Opened one up for curiosity but eventually left them until I had more time. 4 Nov 2024: Started modding first console, managed to set up softmod after some technical difficulties. 12 Aug 2025: Project is on hold until further notice.
