This project is an attempt to make a portable Wii console which can also link to a TV through an HDMI cable - similar to a modern Switch.
I originally became interested in portable Wiis after hearing about the Kawaii Wii, but as I dug deeper I found that pretty much every portable Wii project would be very expensive, and probably not work with the Wiis I have since they're original, 4-layer PCBs (learn about the difference here).
To start this project off, naturally I needed a Wii, so I bought a set of three off of a second-hand site for £15($20). They weren't in great shape, but I gave them a bit of a clean before deciding it didn't matter too much since I'd be taking them apart anyway.
After some much-needed restoration, I dismantled and homebrewed one of the Wiis, which has been codenamed "Existnt01" for future ease of organization. I used guides from this site for the first steps and RVLoader, which is a mod that adds a certain UI and a few hardware changes to the Wii to make it more easy to make portable.
